Pamela Montiel is an upcoming junior at Mercy High School in San Francisco. She was born and raised in the Mission District, a centre of latino culture and art. Being of Mexican descent it was a very familiar place where she was freely able to be herself. She played sports, danced, painted, she created. Growing up in this place, She was able to witness the gentrification there first-hand, unfortunately. Because of this, she has become very passionate in bringing awareness to others about gentrification and it’s effects to minority groups. As well as being an aspiring filmmaker and editor, Pamela is also an experienced artist and loves to incorporate her creativity into her works.
