Chicago

Since 2000, Free Spirit Media (FSM) has offered life-changing experiences to youth across Chicago. Free Spirit Media provides education, access, and opportunity in media production to over 500 underserved urban youth every year. FSM is advancing education and digital learning through our innovative program model. Hands-on and project-based media production opportunities with FSM are helping young people develop their authentic voice while actively learning about and addressing community issues.

Los Angeles

Miguel Contreras Learning Center, located in Downtown Los Angeles, serves students grades nine through 12 and is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.  The school houses four small learning communities: The Academic Leadership Community, Social Justice Program, Business and Tourism Program, and Global Studies Program.

Morocco

Institut Specialise Du Cinema Et De L’AudioVisuel (ISCA) is a pioneer school of  film making in Morocco.  It was founded in 2003 by media professionals and scholars to fill the gap which existed  in terms of media education.

The Skirball Cultural Center features an extraordinary museum, changing exhibitions, engaging music, theater, comedy, film, family, and literary programs, Zeidler’s Café, and Audrey’s Museum store, and a new interactive family destination inspired by the Noah’s Ark story—all in a stunning architectural setting designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie. More than 600,000 people visit the Skirball each year. They may be coming to enjoy an exhibition, attend a music program, participate in a meeting hosted by a community organization, educational institution, or local business, or partake in a life-cycle event such as a baby naming, wedding, or memorial service. The Skirball’s acclaimed school program serves more than 60,000 children and teachers annually from public, private, and parochial schools.

Kids Haven is a residential and rehabilitation Shelter and Village for Street children and other children at risk. The focus is on reunification of the child back into the community, prevention and early intervention programs for the community.

Teboho Trust provides personal empowerment, social development, economic development and wellness through programs, activities and events to over 300 students in the East Orlando section of Soweto, South Africa.

Tshwane Home of Hope is a shelter for girls in crisis providing residential care, educational and developmental assistance to homeless or street girl-children and young women who have been victims of rape, human trafficking, sexual exploitation or parental abuse and neglect.

Global Press Institute is an international nonprofit organization that brings responsible, investigative journalism to communities throughout the world. The Press Institute trains journalists in the developing world, operates news desks in 22 countries and collaborates with organizations dedicated to human development and responsible journalism.
