is an award-winning independent filmmaker whose work focuses on explorations of race, cultural diasporas, gender rights as seen across the backdrop of social justice and human rights. Her internationally acclaimed projects, including Voices of the Morning, It is a Crime, and Net of Jewels, have screened at film festivals, museums and galleries around the world. View From A Grain of Sand, a film about women’s rights in Afghanistan, was broadcast on PBS and internationally. Meena has received grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, NEA, Women in Film Foundation, Durfee Foundation, among others. Raised in Kenya and educated in the UK, Meena is a graduate of California Institute of the Arts.
